However, problems can arise when measuring ORP in seawater if conventional reference electrodes <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">with ceramic membranes are used, as high and variable <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">junction potentials develop under high pressure. Therefore, redox potential measurement systems have previously only been offered for depths of up to <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">1,500 m.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">In addition, using two channels of the probe system for pH measurement\u2014one for the glass electrode and one for the reference electrode\u2014proved to be somewhat cumbersome.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"323\" data-end=\"885\"><b>The Solution:<\/b>  <b>A versatile combination electrode for underwater probe systems \u2013 also flexibly usable in standalone operation<br\/><\/b><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">The redox combination sensor consists of a reference electrode and a noble metal electrode <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">in one housing. <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">For accurate measurements in the deep sea, a special double membrane <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">was used for the reference electrode to achieve better signal stability under pressure changes. <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">The redox combination sensor for in-situ determination of redox potentials is available as a <\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; font-weight: inherit;\">deep-sea version (up to 600 bar) without an
