Bio-fish
Our BIO-FISH is an extremely lightweight, multi-parameter
system developed for rapid and comprehensive data collection
in estuaries, lakes, rivers, and coastal areas. It is so highly automated that it can also
be used by personnel without specialized training in measurement technology and
data processing.
The complete system consists of:
• the BIO-FISH towed body with up to fifteen physical, chemical, and biological sensors,
• an electronics module for data acquisition and control,
• a GPS navigation system and an echosounder integrated into the BIO-FISH computer control to enable an undulating measurement course with obstacle and bottom avoidance.
System performance data:
The BIO-FISH weighs approx. 20 kg and can be handled on-site by a single person. The maximum operating depth is 60 m at 3 knots. Custom versions for greater depths as well as special sensors are available upon request.
The sensors are mounted on the BIO-FISH in such a way that unobstructed flow is guaranteed. The measured values are not significantly influenced by movement through the water column.
